Itinerary:
Day 1: Amman – Dana
Fly to Amman, transfer (2 hours), to Dana, mee our tour guide wwho will be with you for the next 5 days, and learn about what to expect on your challenge.
Day 2: Dana Natural reserve (7 hours trekking)
Start early from Dana village and begin with a short visit to Dana Spring, as we head to Wadi Dana we pass ege-old olives trees, perfect to sit under to cool down. We join a bedouin trail that leads us to Qussaib Spring and later to Attathe Spring, where we can splash our faces to freshen up. We continue on and cross the beginning of Wadi Araba desert, where a Bedouin family will be waiting to welcome us at their bedouin tents. Over our tradetional bedouin meal with the tribe, we hear stories and history. We stay the night in Bedouin style.
Day 3: Wadi Araba Desert
(7 hours trekking)
After breakfast e say good bye to the bedouin family and trek towards the copper mines in Wadi Fainan, the oldest and bigeest copper mines in the world in ancient time. We later enter in the Wadi Araba desert by Jeep for a short transfer to the Abu Sakakeen Valley, we hike up the Abu Mahmoud mountains to great views of Wadi Araba, here we set up camp and enjoy dinner around a campfire.
Day 4: Petra mountains
(8 hours trekking)
After breakfast we hike across dunes to Wadi Namala, then hike up the Petra mountains (1421 m), for a fantastic climax, we are treaded to some spectacular views – from the west; the Araba desert, and negev desert in Israel, from the East; Du-Shara and Petra mountains, from the north: the Dead Sea and Golan heights, and from south: Negeb and Wadi Dhba'a, tonight we stay in beautifull Petra city.
Day 5: Petra
Afre an early breakfast we go into Petra, where our local guide shows us the highlighs of the Nabateans city. We enter the city through the Siq and are greeted with the most astonishing and dramatic monument in Jordan: the treasury. We have lunch inside Petra, then climb the strairs to the monastery, and admire the splendid view over the Wadi Araba. In the evening we meet in a local restaurant for a celebratory meal, and look back at the last few days in this wonderful country.
Day 6: Return home
We transfer (3 hours) back to Amman in time for your flight home.
